Ballycastle Forest, located just outside Ballycastle town is the place to go for mountain biking on the North Coast. With a scarcity of trails along the causeway, Ballycastle Forest mountain bike trails are a much needed rarity for the biking community. Most of the trails are self built by the riders who take huge pride in keeping them in top condition throughout the year.
The trails are dotted just off the walking paths, with big open turns flowing into single track.
Wombles Trail.
Jayne’s Trail.
Night Rider Trail.
Ballycastle Forest is not yet on the map as a maintained NI trail, but it’s definitely worth a trip if you’re into your biking and are up on the north coast.

Some trails have been destroyed by forestry service and some trees have been cut down in such a way that they block some other trails
